Marie Marchiano is an exponent of one of my favorite art forms: Washaway Inspiration. I just made up a name for that genre but I think it works. Washaway Art might be a more general term, as not all chalk-on-pavement work is necessarily inspirational. Chalk on sidewalk or chalk on concrete creations are with us until it rains. This shoutout to the pursuit of Triumph is probably gone by now. Marie Marchiano‘s ephemeral art salutes the one that got away, embracing (instead of resenting) evaporated inspirations which linger only in memory.
