True to routine, day 2 without booze had me sleeping way better than the night before, and longer. But not too damn long. Also true to form I have been stuffing my goddam face with food all fucking day. I remember how my metabolism used to be. I ate nothing until late afternoon. Breakfast frequently made me throw up. I was the barf king in grade school. I remember hurling on the school bus one morning. I was especially humiliated that the girl I had a crush on was holding her nose and screaming “gross!” louder than almost anybody else. Gosh, I thought… “If she liked me she would consider the scent of my vomit to be aromatic and fragrant. I guess she doesn’t like me. Boo hoo. I will now vomit more.”

I was out wandering last night around midnight. I called in a couple of messages to the .MOBI from a couple of favorite old payphones. Have not posted. Not sure I will. I went in to a Rite-Aid to buy sleeping pills and an upstairs neighbor was there, standing in line. It is not certifiably bizarre that I would see him there, mere blocks from our mutual address, at one of the only 24-hour places around. But it was a little off. He and I used to chat all the time but ever since he got married he just ignores me. That is not really how being married is supposed to work, I don’t think, but I guess some boys are whipped.

Notes to self regarding today’s decision making process: Changing weather software after something like 16 years, because the old software is no longer usable. Everything underlying it changed and the code is too much of a mess to even contend with. SO: Choice for WordPress weather came down to the childishly named AWESOME WEATHER WIDGET versus WPCLOUDY. Both seem comparable on features, even if it took me all afternoon to find some of them. I’m going with AWESOME because it is sold at a one-time rate. WPCLOUDY is a subscription-based product. I do not need another one of those to pick away at my future resources. AWESOME is also made by an American, while WP CLOUDY is by a French programmer. Time zone differences make such arrangements irksome at times when something goes kablooie and the programmer is sound asleep.

Only concern at present is that the new weather interfaces in WordPress are not optimized for search engines, not in the slightest. Or rather they do not appear to be. Someone asked about this in the support forum for WP CLOUDY but the answer meant nothing to me. Something about WP-Rocket and caching. Caching would save your API key at the weather providers from going over quota but I don’t see how it creates SEO-friendly URLs. Or maybe it does create canonical URLs. I don’t know, but it’s a thing for me since my weather site for years had unique canonical URLs for every individual and identical page. I could redirect or even replace those old pages if I could establish new and equivalent or even close-to-equivalent URLs.

Aw crap, might have to change my mind again. WP CLOUDY has maps. Amazingly, it looks like AWESOME does not. WTF.

At the ghetto coffee shop, swilling bad coffee and craving chocolate. Going to slow down on the gorging of food, though. Not good to swing from one extreme to another. Would like a beer tonight but not going to do it. Was nice to slee normally. I read up before taking a Unisom. Something said that you could fucking die mixing benzos and OTC sleeping pills. No one ever told me that but I and all my adoring fans are joyful as hell I happened to look it up.

Blargh, going home.
