Can’t read the last digit of this but it’s the first new-to-me sighting of a telephone exchange name in a long time. This was in Sunnyside, on a path I’ve walked upon many times over without spotting this. It’s a familiar looking placard, seen on many a sidewalk metal door, but most others of this style I’ve encountered are from the Charles Hoelzer Iron Works company in Maspeth, at HAVemeyer-4-9436. This one is from the H. Zimmerman Iron Works , EVergeen 4-497*(can’t read the last digit), on McKibbin Street in Brooklyn. It turns out I did spot another medallion from this company, back in 2012, but it was too worn out to read.
