This is my mail-in ballot. I was so hoping this Working Families candidate for New York’s Supreme Court was Kenny Schaffer, a former friend of mine known for the “What’s the frequency, Kenneth?” incident involving Dan Rather. The CBS newsman was attacked by a mentally disturbed individual repeatedly asking that question. For years the incident was believed to have been a case of mistaken identity in which the assailant thought Dan Rather was Kenny Schaffer, who at the time was a well-known radio guy who knew a lot about wireless frequencies and other such things.

Considering Kenny’s vast range of interests and livelihoods it honestly would not have surprised me if this really was that Kenneth Schaffer on the ballot. But no. Different guy, spelled differently.
