I still don’t like the coffee here, but here I am again, racking up another notch on the repeat customer card so I can get a free cup of coffee I will not like after drinking 10 cups of it.

People can spend their money however they want. Still, sometimes I wince at the way some people blow coin like it’s a shitfest.
One dude was a gambler who hit Atlantic City every couple of months. His exact words were “If I lose 4 or 5 thousands dollars that’s a good night for me.” I didn’t say anything, because I had nothing to say. He seemed truly happy with himself over his gambling losses.
I can imagine the visceral thrill of being there. Casinos can be addicting not just in the money but the atmosphere.
Change subject: I noticed a publication that is called “POPULAR INFORMATION.” I thought that was a telling name for this information age. I wonder if it takes the same approach to information as Popular Mechanics and Popular Science took to their subjects.
