I just played my most satisfying-yet couple of pieces at the 180 Maiden Lane POPS. I was actually audible this time. It was only the usual Philip Glass pieces, and awkwardly, as I never took off my jacket or sat at proper posture. But it felt nice, and I think I may have connected with someone sitting near the piano. Until now I’ve avoided playing when people are sitting too close to the piano, or sitting close enough that I would interfere with their conversation. But this dude was sitting by himself.

I’ve been a little charged about the piano portion of my life since finally getting my hands on the Roland portable piano that had been sold out everywhere for the past 2 years. It was an exciting instrument. I could reasonably imagine rolling that thing out in public and thrilling the masses with somber improvisations and Schubert ditties.
