up past 2am, slept past noon. ah, the sober life. the first thing i notice about sobriety is that i see things better, more clearly, more vividly. the 2nd thing i notice is that i eat like a goddam pig. pound and a half of deep fried pork chops and i wanted more, this after eating well enough all day long before.
walked along steinway and Broadway. new sign at DAVE SHOES, which i swear used o be called Dave’s Shoes. the new sign says they carry size EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE shoes, which has always been a selling point for them. i used to buy Hush Puppies sandals there once a year until i discovered how much cheaper they were almost anywhere else. then i discovered better brands of shoes.
Clearing out the closet was exhausting, but still no step closer am i to finding that damn rubber stamp kit. it sounds like something i would have put in the wood desk but i can’t find it there either.
Just a beautiful day, one which I should have spent entirely indoors continuing the purge of unneeded accumulation in the closets.
Just as I was purging stuff for sale on eBay I actually sold something. A fairly obscure Russian-issued LP by a pianist I never heard of. it sold to someone in Japan. Packed and ready to go I should wait until Tuesday to post it, since tomorrow’s a holiday and leaving an LP in a blue mailbox for a few days seems risky as far as exposing it to the elements. I packed it unusually well, though, in advance of its intercontinental, transpacific journey.
Funny thing is that of the items for sale on eBay that I was going to purge this was not one of them, so there. After fees and all that I’ll probably clear a few dollars.
