When I asked, ChatGPT had nothing on who was responsible for the Softee/LinkNYC prank, even though the prankster’s identity was published far and wide. No unauthorized software was installed and the Softee logo was never displayed, though that scenario is something for the unknown prankster to chew on for possible future pursuits. The NYPD was never brought into any investigation. The last paragraph is ironic af. ChatGPT used “unauthorized access” to scrape oceans of content from copyrighted sources, and here is just one example of the nonsense it presents as fact. “Serious consequences” indeed.
