Always happy to spot new elevators in the subway system, even as these new installs will be out of my usual travels. The 34th Avenue/Steinway Street hellscape surrounding the installation of three elevators at that station has persisted for over a year with nothing visible to show for it. It’s supposed to be done Q1 next year. I’ve been using that station (Steinway and 34th) more frequently as my 4-day workweek basically eliminates use of the W train, which doesn’t operate during the 5AM hour on Friday or Monday when I would need it, and the W does not run at all on most weekends. Occasionally there is “Special Service” on weekends when the 7 train is a mess. The W was boss because it got me straight from Astoria to the Oculus non-stop. I still use it for going home on Friday and Monday but as the Fulton Center down escalator remains busted for what might be two months now I have more often opted for the 2/3 to TImes Square and transfer to the N there. It kinda sucks storming through weekend rush at Times Square but it’s there.
