I’m not certain. But she was looking my way again, and this time I swear the wedding/engagement ring that clasped her ring finger last time our paths crossed is today gone. Cannot be certain, as I waited too late to look. She was wearing her California shirt again, I my maroon Orvis. Those looks of hers felt real, and they seemed to come in quicker now that I board the train at a different station. Maybe she wants to ask me about that. Start a conversation on why I don’t board at Steinway Street anymore. It’s because it has become too far a walk with the south stairwells sealed shut as they continue the eternal process of installing elevators at that station. If the rock is gone maybe it was never there, but no, I know what I saw. This really is romance at its finest, is it not…
I feel fine today, so far. A few days ago a doctor injected steroids into me and nothing felt the same until now. I have some kind of foot foulup, blamed on all my obsessive walking, I think. But the steroid injection seems to have done a lot to clear it up, after seeming to make things a lot worse the day after.
It sounds like you’re getting cortisone. I get a shot in my right hip every 5 months because the cartilage is gone and it’s bone rubbing on bone. Hurts like a blue bitch. The doctor gives me a local anesthetic and runs a needle between my groin and hip. It’s a strange feeling, sort of like an electric current running from my hip down to my kneecap.
I’m guessing with the amount of milage you put on your feet you’ll be needed them every 3 months.
Maybe it’s cortisone. Even the online visit summary does not specify what it was, only that there was an injection. I didn’t get anaesthetic but she sprayed my foot with some painfully cold stuff to numb the joints. I go back in 2 months from the date of injection.
