I am testing out a replacement keyboard, Logitech K380, as the previous rig was nearing unusability. This purchase and the process in which it occurred was needlessly time-consuming. I decided to give the Karrot app a try, once again in the futile and naive belief that something like this will make it possible to make new friends or acquaintances in the neighborhood. Unlike the BUY NOTHING group where no money is transacted Karrot is a selling platform. For $20 I got a good-as-new keyboard, and that’s not a bad price, but I could as easily have gone other routes. The woman who sold it to me was at least pleasant, even amiable. But I’ll never see her again. This time around I had no expectation whatsoever that that would occur.

I am nearing the end of five days away from the workplace. It feels like I’ve been away for a month. Sunday did not go well, with the sirens and flashing lights blasting off and no one confirming that it was just a mixup and that we were not being evacuated. Nobody even cared. We have an evacuation plan but I don’t think it’s ever been rehearsed.

Anyway, the new keyboard works well so I can leave a positive review. Good for me.
